This stunning statement piece is painstakingly bead-stitched, one bead at a time, in hues of turquoise, red, travertine and smoky black, selected from my collection of Picasso glass cylinder beads.* The built-in helix shape means the necklace naturally spirals, without any effort on the part of the wearer. It also allows it to fold compactly (see photo 2) — easy to store and perfect for travel! 14k gold filled magnetic closure.
*Of all the glass beads I work with, Picasso glass beads are my favorite. They are meticulously crafted in Japan and then sent on a journey to the Czech Republic, where they receive the paint flecked finish that inspires their name. Available in a limited range of colors, including red, black, travertine, turquoise, green and brown, they offer a naturalistic finish reminiscent of stone. Picasso beads are more costly than other glass beads and can be difficult to source so I treasure my stockpile (and have even been known to hoard to ensure I don’t run out!)
