Sonoran Cardinal
$1,700.00
1 in stock
Few birds bring color to the desert quite like a male Northern Cardinal. Perched among the smooth green trunks and delicate branches of a palo verde tree, his brilliant scarlet plumage creates a striking contrast with the softer greens of the surrounding landscape.
I was especially drawn to his alert, direct gaze and the sense of a brief connection between bird and observer. The distinctive green bark of the palo verde became an important part of the composition, its intersecting trunks and branches creating a natural framework around the cardinal while allowing his remarkable color to take center stage.
